Turmeric, a spice derived from the root of the Curcuma longa plant, has been used for centuries in traditional Indian cooking and Ayurvedic medicine. Its primary active compound, curcumin, is now the focus of clinical research investigating anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotective effects, according to the provided sources.
